The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, will be notable for being the first tournament with 32 teams, an increase from the previous 24. The defending champion USA will be among the competitors. Additionally, FIFA plans to significantly increase the prize money from $30 million in 2019 to at least $69 million, although this is still less than the $440 million awarded at the Men's World Cup in 2022.
